Master's women's volleyball grabbed the first set, but the next four proved elusive as they lost a GSAC match to the Life Pacific Warriors Friday 3-1 in San Dimas.
Master's (8-5, 3-3) won the first set 25-23, but dropped the next three 19-25, 23-25 and 21-25. Both teams had 156 attacks, but the Warriors' 52 kills to the Master's 42 was the difference.
"Passing was solid tonight but our offense struggled to put the ball away," said Head Coach
Annett Davis.
Emily Clark contributed eight kills and led Master's with four blocks. But it was
Ruby Duncan who led the Mustangs getting a double-double with a team-high 12 kills and adding 16 digs.
"
Ruby Duncan shined tonight," Davis said. "She was very consistent in everything she did. Her passing was solid, she did great reading her hitters while in the back row, and she attacked the right spots at the right time."
Master's will travel to Costa Mesa Saturday to take on Vanguard in another GSAC match. Game time is 7 p.m.
