Isabella Huff and Nicole Southard set new program records on the final day of the TMU Spring Invite on Tuesday at Crystalaire Country Club.

Huff's second-round 79 is the best round in program history, while Southard's fourth-place individual finish is the best-ever by a Mustang.

Southard nearly became the first Mustang in women's program history to shoot in the 70's after shooting an 80 on Monday, before Huff accomplished the feat a day later, allowing her to finish fifth.

"Bella played with a lot of heart and I'm very proud of her ability to overcome adversity and keep her mind in the right space," said Master's Assistant Coach Jonathan Kang, who was with her for a lot of Tuesday's round. "She had full confidence knowing she can pull a good round together and continued to grind despite a few bad swings and unlucky breaks.

"It has been awesome watching her grow from the start of the season to now."

Nicole Southard

Southard put together another solid performance, shooting an 82 to place fourth, the highest-ever individual finish in program history.

"Nicole was super solid in both rounds," Hicks said. "I was impressed with her disposition this week – hopeful and forward facing."

Sierra Pilgrim moved up six spots to 13th after her second round 89.

The Mustang women began the day tied atop the leaderboard with Hope International University, but the Royals managed to pull away as the second round went along to win by eight strokes.

Master's will next compete at the Golden State Athletic Conference Championships April 25-27 at La Purisima G.C. in Lompoc.
