Bench production sparks TMU over Lincoln University (CA)

Gavin Lloyd and Jaden Graham each scored in double figures off the bench for TMU Men's Basketball, helping Master's to a 70-61 victory over visiting Lincoln University (CA) on Tuesday night inside The MacArthur Center.

"Really big night off the bench for Gavin Lloyd and Jaden Graham," Master's Head Coach Kelvin Starr said. "They were both huge tonight on both ends of the floor."

Lloyd tallied a double-double of 14 points and 11 rebounds, while Graham (four rebounds) scored 11 points on 4-for-9 shooting, including 3-for-7 from 3-point range.

A Lloyd bucket extended TMU's lead to as many as 10 in the opening half, before a Graham triple helped the Mustangs take a nine-point lead into halftime.

A 13-6 run to open the second half, capped off by back-to-back Davian Brown 3-pointers, gave Master's its largest-advantage of the game (16 points).

TMU then led by double digits for most of the remaining portion of the game, before the visiting Oaklanders got to within nine just before the final horn sounded.

"Thomas Lowery also gave us valuable minutes with some really scrappy plays on the glass and defensively," Starr said of the senior forward who pitched in two points and six rebounds.

Brown (18 points) led the Mustangs in scoring for the third-straight game, while Caden Starr (12 points, five assists, four steals) joined him, Lloyd and Graham in double figures.

Master's (3-0 overall) now travels to Irvine to take part in the Conference Challenge, hosted by Concordia University Irvine. TMU will take on CUI on Friday at 5 p.m. before playing Biola on Saturday at 7 p.m.
