A strong finish to the first half gave TMU Men's Basketball a three-point lead over Biola University, but the Eagles soared back in the second half to win 76-63 and prevent the Mustangs from winning a third-straight exhibition game against NCAA Division II competition.
After already defeating Azusa Pacific University and Concordia University Irvine this season, Master's was hoping to add Biola to the list.
Momentum was on TMU's side going into the second half, after the Mustangs held the Eagles scoreless over the final 4:50 of the first half, during which Master's closed the first period on a 9-0 run to pull ahead by three.
Biola regained its footing early in the second half to retake the lead, outscoring TMU by 16 points in the second half.
Davian Brown's 14 points led all Mustangs, while
Jordan Starr tallied 12 points and eight rebounds.
Jaden Graham provided a spark off the bench for Master's with 10 points in 15 minutes of action.
Master's (3-0 overall) returns home to take on University of Antelope Valley on Tuesday at 7 p.m. before the Mustangs begin Golden State Athletic Conference play on Saturday at Westmont.
