Mustangs shutout Warriors to move up GSAC standings

TMU Women's Soccer moved up the Golden State Athletic Conference standings after picking up a crucial road victory over William Jessup, 1-0, in the Mustangs' penultimate game of the regular season.

"I thought we did a good job being organized and keeping a dangerous team under wraps," Master's Head Coach Curtis Lewis said. "At this point of the season, getting the full points on the road is super impressive and important for our club."

Kyndel Borman's early second-half goal in the 47th minute, off an assist from Elizabeth Radmilovich, proved to be the difference between the two sides. Borman leads Master's with six goals this season, having scored in back-to-back games.

"Having Kyndel starting to find her form and seeing some other girls being dangerous is really promising for our attack," Lewis said.

The Mustangs outshot the Warriors 18-15 overall and 9-6 in shots on goal.

"I thought we were unlucky to not score a few more times with the amount of opportunities we created in the match," Lewis said.

Ariana Romero made six saves to preserve her fifth shutout and the team's ninth of the season.

TMU (8-3-3 overall, 4-3 GSAC) concludes its regular season on Saturday with an 11 a.m. match at Menlo in Atherton.

"We have another tricky match on Saturday to end the regular season," Lewis said. "We have some momentum now, so let's see what we can do with that."

A win on Saturday at Menlo would guarantee that Master's hosts a GSAC Tournament First Round matchup. A tie would ensure that as well, as long as William Jessup does not beat No. 17 Westmont on Saturday. TMU can finish anywhere from third to sixth after the final day of the conference regular season.
