TMU Women's Volleyball took a two-set-to-one lead on the road at San Diego Christian, but the Hawks fought back to win the Golden State Athletic Conference match in five sets (25-16, 20-25, 23-25, 25-16, 15-11).

Facing a one-set deficit, the Mustang offense exploded to hit .316 in the second set to even the match. Then in the third set, when trailing 8-9, a 7-0 run helped Master's gain control. San Diego Christian saved one set point to get to within one, but
Cora Machado's kill put TMU in the overall match lead.

The home side made sure the visitors didn't win a third-consecutive set, though, holding the Mustangs to a -.067 attack % in the fourth set. The Hawks won the fourth by nine points, fueled by a 10-0 run midway through to even the match at two sets apiece.

In the deciding fifth set, San Diego Christian held an 8-7 advantage before scoring four-straight points. Master's got to within two on a couple occasions, but were unable to overturn the deficit.

Emilye Grace Williams (14),
Ruby Duncan (13) and
Emily Scott (11) all recorded double-digit kills.
Natalie Collins distributed 44 assists to Mustang attackers. Collins contributed on the defensive end as well, ranking second on the team in both blocks (four) and digs (14).

Duncan led the team with her six blocks, while
Karli Stults tallied the most digs (17).
Faith Tarver (13) and
Anna Poole (11) also posted double-digit digs.

Master's (7-15 overall, 3-9 GSAC) returns to Bross Court on Saturday at 7 p.m. against Life Pacific University.
