TMU Men's Soccer put up a strong fight on the road against No. 23 Hope International on Saturday, but ultimately fell on the wrong side of a 2-1 scoreline.
Â
The Royals took the lead in the 27th minute via a direct free kick, making the most of an 11-3 advantage in shots in the first half.
Â
Corny Miller then equalized for the Mustangs in the 67th minute off an assist from
Giorgio Martino. Miller scored his second collegiate goal to tie up the match after Martino's squared ball across the box found the freshman to tap the ball home.
Â
However, HIU retook the lead just 13 minutes later. TMU outshot Hope International 12-9 after halftime, but were unable to find a second equalizer.
Â
Prince Chingancheke recorded the two other shots on goal for the Mustangs, who tallied 15 shots overall and three on frame, compared to 20 and nine respectively for the Royals.
