The Master's University women's volleyball team will look to build on last season's breakthrough when it reconvenes late this summer. And the signing of Karli Stults should help with that.

The libero from San Diego, California, joins a Mustang team that won the first Golden State Athletic Conference regular season and tournament titles in program history a year ago.

"As much as Karli excels in the gym defensively with her skill, speed, and intensity," said TMU coach Allan Vince, "her greatest strengths are found in her Godly character. Karli is a natural leader and encourager, and she will play a crucial role being a solid brick in the foundation of this program."

Stults brings an impressive resume to Newhall. She attended Classical Academy in Escondido, California, and was a three-year varsity starter at libero, a three-time all-league honorable mention pick, and she helped her team reach a sectional final.

At Master's, she, like her team, will look to continue moving in a positive direction.

"I look forward to continuing to play the sport I love and glorifying God through it," Stults said. "I'm excited to have the opportunity to experience the next four years with coaches and teammates that have the same mindset."

The Mustangs went 29-8 last season and reached the NAIA national tournament for the first time since 2013. Vince was named GSAC Coach of the Year.
